You know how there are somethings that you come across and always mull about getting? The Bose Wavemusic was just one of those. It didn't help that there was a showroom at the neighbourhood mall (can't they stick to selling cheap 3 for $10 HDB estate clothes?) that I have to pass by every day on the walk back from the MRT station.
The Bose Festival is on so the set was going for a discount. On top of that, I had relatives who owned Bose Lifestyle sets so I qualified for a further loyalty discount. I have to thank the Government for its progress package payout plus a recent small windfall for my new Bose Wavemusic. (Thanks... but I still wouldn't have changed my voting choices if I had credible opposition in my GRC.)
Anyway, after paying a not-so-small sum later, I walked away with my new bedroom alarm clock radio/CD player. I've always been amazed at how a little box like this can produce such deep and clear sounds. I'm not fan of boom boxes... and I do have a pretty discerning ear for music. I like my sounds clean and uncluttered so I'd have none of those 21-band equaliser, bass boomer sorts. And I can't stand those fancy flashing displays. I know its me... call me boring but I like my stuff clean and functional.
I know there are sets that sound better... some for even less... but this is just a small dream come true. True, its a yuppie symbol... but my ears are happy. The last 2-3 months had been one 'helluva' rollercoaster ride... lots of highs and lows... and I think I deserve this pat on the back. Its also another check off my list of to-gets. Besides... I'm getting sick of WOW ingame music :)
